Not Getting Enough Engagement on Instagram?
I must say, most times I wake up in the morning and before my feet hit the floor, I have cleared all of my notifications from Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, emails and so on. It’s a hard habit to kick when you are a digital girl but hey, social marketing pays my bills! Anyway, do you ever notice that when you log on to “the gram,” you see posts at the top of your timeline that are 2-3 days old? Your first thought is, “OMG Whyyyyy” would I want to see club photos from Saturday night and it’s Monday?!! I personally miss seeing the most recent posts first. The “real-time” aspect was part of the fun. The new Instagram algorithm is hated by many, but according to the brand, its purpose is to be sure that we see the posts we care about first. There has been tremendous growth on the site and we apparently miss 70% of content in our feeds.
The order of photos and videos in your feed will be based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post. As we begin, we’re focusing on optimizing the order — all the posts will still be there, just in a different order. – Instagram
